Soul Calibur was the continuation of "Soul Edge" but this time for Dreamcast (the Playstation 1 had no potential to develop Soul Calibur).
It was a graphically innovative for its time: the textures of the characters were much better than its predecessor and the animation was much smoother, displaying more polygons on screen.
With new characters, new weapons and game modes, this game became one of the best Dreamcast games (only surpassed by Shenmue) and a revolution in 3D fighting games.
